Challenge
Barkers has a strong legacy of quality craftsmanship and contemporary menswear, but their garment branding had grown inconsistent across ranges. They needed a unified, elevated labeling system that could bring cohesion to their diverse product lines — without losing the brand’s timeless appeal.
Solution
While leading Barkers’ internal design team, we developed a complete labeling suite anchored by a refined brand mark — a modern evolution of the original Barkers triangle. This updated symbol was designed for versatility across multiple applications, including button shanks, label pips, silicone badges, and woven tags.
The result was a product identity system that balanced corporate clarity with design subtlety, and fashion relevance with long-term brand consistency.
Impact
The new suite has been rolled out across Barkers’ core and seasonal collections, bringing ownability, clarity, and cohesion to the brand’s on-garment presence. It continues to strengthen Barkers’ position in the premium menswear market while maintaining its heritage values.
“Adam undertook a brand development project during his time as Lead Designer at Barkers, with a focus on developing our labelling suite and on-garment branding. His approach to the design process and ideation was very considered, which resulted in a clean, fresh design aesthetic that resonated with our corporate brand identity but was applicable to fashion garment design with an elevated and timeless look. We have since executed those designs across a broad aspect of the Barkers range and are very happy with the result. I would highly recommend Adam to anyone looking to undertake any brand development or design projects.”
